When we set out to build Teal in November of last year the world was in a different place. Today, some of the most talented people are facing unemployment due to circumstances outside of their control. It’s a scary time — and it’s a lonely time. Losing your job unexpectedly can be one of the most emotionally devastating things to happen to a person.

At Teal, we’re a collective of individuals who’ve been through uncertainty and unemployment before. We have all felt destabilized, unsure about our future and lacking community support.

We created Teal to provide the tools and support we wished we had during our career stops and starts. We want to help people through this moment.

Today, we’re launching Career Assist, a group-based, 6-week program to help people jump start their search. We are also providing it for free to the first 1,000 people that apply that have lost their job due to COVID-19. Job searching does not have to be lonely anymore.

We’ve been building Teal to be a career partner that helps individuals advocate for themselves and build fulfilling careers. We’ve spent the last few weeks changing gears to be able to quickly launch the tools that will help people the most during this time of uncertainty. The tools we wish we’d had.

Our goal is to help individuals cope with being laid off and provide them with the right tools to help them find a new job. Having now supported or shadowed hundreds of job seekers, I have a deep empathy for how isolating it can be. Job searching is not something you talk about, you do it alone…

Well, that no longer has to be the case and Teal is here so that no one ever has to do it alone again.
