Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
A privacy policy for personal Chrome extensions built by David Fano.
This privacy policy applies to Chrome extensions built and published personally by David Fano, unless a specific extension has its own separate privacy policy. Website analytics for davidfano.com are covered by the site’s general privacy policy.
Short Version
The Chrome extensions I build for personal projects are designed to be useful without collecting, selling, or sharing your personal data.
Your data is your data. If an extension stores anything, it is intended to stay on your device, in your browser, or inside services you already choose to use.
What the Extensions Collect
By default, my Chrome extensions do not collect personal information, create user profiles, sell data, or share data with advertisers.
Some extensions may need access to browser data, page content, tabs, storage, or other Chrome permissions to do the thing you installed them to do. Those permissions are used only for the extension’s stated functionality.
Local Storage
An extension may save settings, preferences, or temporary information using Chrome’s local storage APIs. This data is intended to remain in your browser unless the extension clearly says otherwise.
Third-Party Services
If an extension connects to a third-party service, that will be part of the extension’s visible functionality. Data sent to a third-party service is subject to that service’s own privacy policy and terms.
Analytics and Tracking
These personal Chrome extensions do not use advertising trackers. If I ever add product analytics, error reporting, or similar telemetry to a specific extension, I will update the relevant policy or extension description to say what is collected and why.
Data Sharing
I do not sell personal data from these extensions. I do not share personal data from these extensions except where required by law, needed to protect the security or integrity of the extension, or required to provide functionality you intentionally use.
Security and Limitations
I try to build extensions responsibly, but personal projects can contain bugs or unexpected behavior. The extensions are provided as-is, without warranties. You are responsible for deciding whether an extension is appropriate for your use and for reviewing the permissions requested before installing it.
If an extension behaves in a way that appears to expose, transmit, or misuse data unintentionally, please stop using it and contact me so I can investigate.
Children’s Privacy
These extensions are not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
I may update this policy as extensions change. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
