Teal

I believe everyone deserves a meaningful career. Teal exists to make that happen for as many people as possible.

Origin

After leaving WeWork in 2019, I knew I wanted to start a new company. I wanted to roll up my sleeves and build technology that gives people the tools and support they need to succeed at work.

I announced Teal on Thanksgiving 2019. The name reflects what we’re about — helping people find careers that are genuinely fulfilling.

What Teal Does

Teal is a career management platform that helps people:

  • Navigate job searches with tools and community support
  • Build fulfilling careers through self-advocacy
  • Connect with others going through similar career transitions

Key Moments

COVID-19 Response (April 2020) — When the pandemic hit, we pivoted fast. We launched Career Assist, a free 6-week program for people who’d lost jobs due to COVID. We offered it free to the first 1,000 applicants. We also opened up our Search Party Slack community (originally born from the WeWork layoffs) and released our Career Navigator tools for free.

Miami Move (January 2021) — After almost 20 years in NYC, I packed up the family and moved Teal’s HQ to Miami. I wanted to bring my experience — starting companies, scaling teams, building products — back to the city where I grew up.

Career Growth Summit (2021) — We hosted Career Growth Summits in Miami, bringing together keynote speakers like Mayor Francis Suarez, Gretchen Rubin, and Silvia Garcia to talk about fulfillment, happiness, and career growth.

The Mission

Careers take work and dedication to build. Without advocacy and support, it’s easy to find yourself in a job that stresses you out and drains you. Teal helps people find work that energizes and supports them.
