CASE existed where building and technology intersect.
What We Did
We combined our experience as architects, project managers, and teachers with a passion for technology to improve the way buildings are designed, built, and operated.
CASE was a Building Information Modeling (BIM) consultancy based in New York City. We provided strategic advising to building design professionals, contractors, and owners seeking to supplant traditional project delivery methods through technology-driven process innovation.
We helped the building industry identify, implement, and manage the technologies and business practices that enable more effective coordination, communication, and collaboration.
The Thesis
The Architecture / Engineering / Construction / Owner (AECO) industry was in the early stages of a historic transformation: moving from a document-centric to a data-centric approach to building design, delivery, and operations.
We believed the future of the AECO industry would be shaped by organizations that led the adoption of this approach — and we were proud to count many of them as our clients.
Growth
Over the course of 7 years, CASE grew into a talented team of technologists working towards building a better built environment. The contributions we made to transform the building industry would not have been possible without every single person who walked through our doors.
Acquisition
In August 2015, CASE was acquired by WeWork — their first acquisition. The team and technology we’d built became foundational to WeWork’s product and technology operations.
When CASE first started consulting at WeWork, there were a few hundred thousand square feet. In just 4 years, we grew that to opening 2 million square feet and selling 3 million square feet per month.
